Drugstore full coverage beauty!

This might sound crazy to talk about full coverage foundation when it's this hot outside, but there are some days when I really wanna switch things up and change my dewy summer makeup look to full coverage, matte one. I know some people don't like (some of them even hate) full coverage so this might not be the best post for you, but I'll try my best to make you interested in reading it.

There are some days when my skin get's crazy and doesn't look it's best, I get breakouts and even redness which is not usual for me. On that kind of days I reach out for this baby.  Having dry skin and wearing full coverage foundation might not sound great at first, because it accentuates all of the dryness/patches on my face, but doing some simple skincare tips really solves the problem. It would be ideal to wear moisturizing sheet mask the day before, but we never know when our skin will decide to get crazy. I cleanse my face as usual, exfoliate, tone twice, use moisturizer, a thick one, then a couple drops of facial oil. That's not much, compared to skincare bloggers, who usually do 20+ steps daily, right? I wish I was one of them, but I'm too lazy.

Now let's talk about the foundation. As you can tell it has a beautiful, simple packaging,  the lid and the pump is white and it gets dirty very easily but I'm okay with that. There are shades for everyone, but sadly I can't tell you what's mine because there are some differences. It has a very thick consistency and covers pretty much every imperfection that my face has, and to be honest with you there are a lot of it, the lasting power is pretty good, it doesn't get oily throughout the day, neither it makes me look flat. For removing it I always make sure to double cleanse, then use my trusty micellar water from Garnier and after that I don't have any foundation left on my skin. And last, but not least the thing that I'm not so happy with is how fast it dries. You have to be very quick with it otherwise it'll leave some lines or parts of dried foundation which does't look pretty. For fixing that problem I like to either mix it with some facial oil, or put some drops of it on my sponge, which really makes the sponge feel more soft, and gives me a little bit of a glow/dewiness.

What's your favorite full coverage foundation? Xx

  1. I've been enjoying medium coverage foundations lately but would love to try this one. I have a few foundations to finish first though, before I can buy any more! Used to love Estee Lauder's Double Wear, but find it to heavy and drying for my skin now.

  2. I loved reading your thoughts on this, your blog and photos are so pretty! I have super dry, sensitive skin so my skincare routine is just water and cleansing milk haha, if I put any more on it goes red and inflamed >< I love a full coverage foundation - when my skin loves it haha - it covers up any red areas :D xx

  3. I love full coverage foundation, but this one doesn't work too well with my skin- it's too matte for me. I might have to try adding more skincare to my routine to try and make it work xx

    1. Try mixing it with facial oils! It didn't worked well on me at first, but then I've changed the way I'm applying it and it worked! Xx

  4. My favourite is L'Oreal, I did a post on it not too long ago. Love a full coverage foundation and I'm glad I'm not the only one! I can't remember if I've tried this one or not.. I know I have trouble finding foundations pale enough for me, so this may have been one of those that wasn't quite pale enough. Good tip about mixing it with oils too. ♥
